A bathroom transformation is a worthwhile investment, and you deserve to feel confident about who you choose. From costs and timelines to the people working in your home, here are answers to the questions we’re often asked. If there’s anything else you’d like to know, Ben is always happy to talk it through.
Yes. Bespoke Bathrooms is led by a licensed builder, and we’re Master Builders members. We also hold public liability and WorkCover insurance.
For Victorian renovation work requiring builder registration, your provider must hold the appropriate registration for the work. Choosing someone without it means they may not be legally authorised to undertake your project. Ask any provider for their registration details and check them with the Building and Plumbing Commission. Trade qualifications or an association membership alone don’t replace builder registration.
Yes. We provide a Major Domestic Building Contract for all works over $10,000. It sets out the agreed work, price, payment stages and other conditions, giving both parties a clear basis for the project.
For bathroom renovations requiring this contract, a quote or handshake alone is not a substitute. If another provider proposes proceeding without one, ask why. Missing documentation can make disagreements about inclusions, payments and responsibilities harder to resolve.
We work with a consistent team of trusted tradespeople from the inner west, with Ben and Baxter easy to contact throughout the renovation. These are people we know and rely on, who understand our expectations for workmanship and respect for your home.
That continuity matters. You’re choosing a team with established working relationships, shared standards and pride in the finished result. Meet the Bespoke guys here.
Because we believe there’s real value in doing one thing exceptionally well. Bathrooms demand careful coordination, from layout and plumbing to waterproofing, tiling and the finishing details. By focusing exclusively on bathrooms, we bring specialist knowledge and practical experience to every stage. For you, that means considered advice, skilled workmanship and care for the details you can see — and those you can’t.
We arrange the required project insurance for eligible renovations. In Victoria, Home Warranty insurance has replaced Domestic Building Insurance for new eligible contracts signed from 1 July 2026. Existing DBI policies continue under their original terms.
Home Warranty may provide assistance for eligible incomplete, defective or non-compliant work if a builder cannot or will not finish or fix it, subject to the scheme’s conditions and limits. It is separate from public liability insurance.
If another provider says project insurance isn’t needed, ask them to explain why your project is exempt. Where cover is required, failing to arrange it is a compliance issue, not a legitimate way to reduce the quote. Make sure you receive the relevant cover documentation.
Every bathroom is different, so we quote for your space and the work it needs. The main cost factors include the size of the room, layout changes, the condition of the existing structure, and your choice of tiles, fittings and cabinetry.
Being open about your budget early helps us give useful advice about where to invest and what’s achievable. Our aim is a bathroom that delivers lasting value, with a clear understanding of what your quote includes.
Our quote reflects the experience, craftsmanship and care that go into the whole renovation. That includes a consistent team of trusted local trades, specialist bathroom knowledge, personal communication and the appropriate contracts and insurance.
When comparing quotes, look beyond the total. Check whether they include the same preparation, waterproofing, materials, finishes and responsibilities, along with the required credentials and project insurance. A lower price doesn’t automatically mean lower quality, but missing items can make two very different offers look comparable. We’re happy to explain ours so you can make an informed decision.
Waterproofing is one of the most important parts of any bathroom renovation. Although you won’t see it once the tiles are laid, it helps protect your home from leaks, moisture damage and costly repairs.
At Bespoke, we use market-leading waterproofing products and proven application processes, with careful attention to surface preparation, junctions, drainage points and curing times. Our specialist bathroom experience means we understand where problems can start and the care needed to prevent them. It’s a vital part of the quality built into your bathroom.
The timeframe depends on the size of your bathroom, the changes involved and the materials you choose but generally around 4 weeks. Moving plumbing, making structural changes or waiting for custom items can all affect the schedule, as can issues uncovered when the existing bathroom is removed.
We’ll discuss an expected timeframe for your project before work begins. Proper preparation, waterproofing and curing take time, and we allow for those steps as part of doing the job properly.
It starts with a conversation about your existing bathroom, what you’d like to change and your budget. From there, we work through the scope, selections and quote so you understand what’s involved before committing.
Once the details and contract are agreed, we plan the work through demolition, preparation, plumbing and electrical work, waterproofing, tiling and installation. Ben is your point of contact for questions along the way. You can read more about our process here.
